I recently puchased this item second hand. I'm trying to hook it up to a 16 port oiomega kvm switch. I was curious what kind of cord I would need to get keyboard and mouse input? I have a VGA to VGA+KVM cable but it doesn't seem to be working. Thank you for your inquiry. Assuming this unit has the same connections as the RKP7, you will need the proprietary CE-6 4-1 Combo KVM Cable (https://www.kvm-switches-online.com/ce-6.html) to attach to the back of the Rack console. The connection on the RKP5 side should be a DB-15 (VGA looking) connecter. The other side, that attaches to the KVM, would be the USB (or PS/2) and VGA video connectors that match up with the local console ports on the KVM. If you are using USB, only one of the cables should need to be connected - which maybe an issue if the KVM itself requires two. (You might try alternating the USB ports. Sometimes one port will function in a single connection setup while the other won\'t). You also might try connecting the RKP5 directly to a computer to see if the keyboard and mouse function properly that way. If they do, there may be an issue with the KVM connection. |
